What is Simming?
         For many of you, the question of exactly what simming is, is no doubt weighing on your minds. Many people have tried to explain to people new to simming exactly what a "sim" is. I maintain however, that this is next to impossible.
  I myself was told a number of various definitions when I began.  Some as simple as: "Its a game.." and some more definitive.  "A sim is not-so-complex Role Playing Game (RPG), based and communicated over IRC yet based in your imagination.  Within a sim, you take on the role of a StarFleet (generally) bridge officer and act out a mission. You do, in essence, simulate a StarFleet mission over IRC. "  Hence the name Sim (Simulation) Organisation.
  Of course, these doesn't help much, does it?  For myself, it wasn't good enough. What do you mean? You "act" out a mission? What mission? How can you act over IRC?    The questions simply keep coming..
  As such, I will not attempt to explain to you the nature of a sim above those definitions already given.  All I can do, is give you some advice.  Simming is extremely fun, rewarding and is an excellent way to make new friends and fight some common foes.  It is a manner in which we may all ".. boldly go where no one has gone before"
